What photo to upload
Upload the damaged photograph itself. A flat scan gives the best result; if you are photographing the print instead, shoot square to it in even indirect light and keep glare off the surface. Do not crop out the damage or pre-edit the image — the repair works from what is actually there, and a pre-brightened copy gives it less to recover.
Does it still look like you
Your uploaded photo is the only identity reference. Face shape, features, skin tone and apparent age are preserved; clothing, hair styling, lighting and background are rebuilt around them. Results stay in your library until you delete them, and source uploads are removed automatically after 30 days.

Will it make the photo look modern?
No. In practice it removes the damage while keeping a period tone rather than reconstructing the image to present-day camera quality — expect a repaired old photograph, not a new one.
How should I capture the original?
A flat scan is best. If you are photographing it, use even indirect light, get square to the print and avoid glare across the surface.
